What a wonderful VE Day celebration we had at Howletch!
We were honoured to welcome veterans from South Tyneside who led a truly inspiring assembly for our children. The pupils were absolutely mesmerised by the incredible artefacts shared by our special guests, bringing history to life in the most powerful way.
A huge thank you as well to our amazing children who brought in their own historic items to share with their classmates! It was a day full of learning, respect, and remembrance.
Take a look at this video of photographs from the day, a memorable celebration enjoyed by all!

To all of our children, families, special visitors and staff for helping us commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
We have had some amazing stories of our own local heroes, which have captivated our children - thank you to all who took the time to send in precious family information.
We have had a week of immersive learning with visits from WWII experts and veterans, stay tuned for all of our pictures over the next couple of days.
As always, thank you for your support.
