The government and Ofsted have identified the need for schools to improve attendance and recommend that each child should achieve 96%. Each week we give Attendance Certificates to the classes in Key Stage 1 and 2 who have achieved the highest attendance. Each term individual pupils receive certificates (and a special treat) for achieving 100% attendance or improving their attendance across the term.
In school attendance is monitored by our Attendance team. If you have any queries please contact the school office.
Leave of Absence requests must be submitted to the School Office 14 days prior to the absence otherwise they will be automatically declined. Schools are not able to authorise holidays, leave of absences are only authorised in exceptional circumstances however a form must be submitted for any planned absences. If no form is received, absences will be marked as unauthorised and may trigger legal action by Durham County Council.
If you have any queries, please contact our Attendance Lead who will be happy to help.
